Evolutionary design experiment

Creating a drinking device

If you are reading this then you are invited to take part in the evolutionary design experiment.

The goal of the experiment is to design a drinking device through guided evolution. The starting object undergoes random modifications through an algorithm, producing three mutated offsprings.

The random evolutionary algorithm can enlarge, shrink, bend, twist, taper, open, close, and add irregularities to the given shape.

Choose which one of the four options you would prefer to use as a drinking device (they are marked in the back). If the mutations don’t improve the object they can be refuted by selecting the original one. The version which gets more votes by the end of the week will be used as starting point for a new evolution iteration.

Let us see how will the shape look by the end of the semester!
